My worry is that I'm rushing into it and that would be ungrateful of me to quit after only a month, as well I would feel bad because I get on well with the manager and don't want to let him down?

When I started I was working 16 days in a row but all short shifts, now I'm getting like two or three 6 hour shifts a week, while at the fast food place I was getting over 30 hours a week on slightly better pay.

I was working at a fast food joint before this and I had problems with it, too fast paced for comfort, you were never really acknowledged for good work and you don't get much respect from customers.
