I can imagine him giving up his job to spend the rest of his free time drinking and smoking which is what I'm terrified of as I do still really love him and I miss the good times we had as a family before he started, particularly, smoking so much.

Either he'll finally take it as a wake up call and start sorting his life out or he'll just stay at rock bottom and become really depressed.

He only has a part time job with very low income as my mum earn a lot of money so my fear is that if she leaves and he realises that he's hit rock bottom, I don't know what he will do.

I'm fourteen and my mother respects me a lot so we had a long conversation about what we wanted to happen and we decided that if we both wanted to be happy in the long term then it is best that they seperate.
